I have a home-made device that draws its power from a USB port.
Unfortunately, with late Linux kernels on some laptops, it can't draw
adequate current to power itself. Is there any way to force an internal
hub to allow maximum USB spec current draw? Yes, I know that it breaks
USB spec to draw more than 100 mA from a port before registering a
device, but my device is nothing more than a few TTL shift registers and
can draw no more than about 200 mA (usually much less). Any ideas?
