Dear all,

I did a mount om /dev/bus/usb to /proc/bus/usb. Still
when i connect my hp printer i get the following :

Jul 17 12:04:42 print-serverkernel: usb 1-8: new high
speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 28
Jul 17 12:04:42 print-serverkernel: usb 1-8: device
descriptor read/64, error -71
Jul 17 12:04:42 print-serverkernel: usb 1-8: device
descriptor read/64, error -71
Jul 17 12:04:42 print-serverkernel: usb 1-8: new high
speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 29
Jul 17 12:04:42 print-serverkernel: usb 1-8: device
descriptor read/64, error -71
Jul 17 12:04:43 print-serverkernel: usb 1-8: device
descriptor read/64, error -71
Jul 17 12:04:43 print-serverkernel: usb 1-8: new high
speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 30
Jul 17 12:04:43 print-serverkernel: usb 1-8: device
not accepting address 30, error -71
Jul 17 12:04:43 print-serverkernel: usb 1-8: new high
speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 31
Jul 17 12:04:44 print-serverkernel: usb 1-8: device
not accepting address 31, error -71

But when i tried a deskjet 6500 with the same usb
cable it works fine and the usb device is correctly
identified. What could be the issue with the printer
that puts out this error and what could i do to
corerct it. Please tell me, as this is a great help

Regards
