True, but at the moment I have no choice unfortunately.

Yup, the firmware version I loaded into the Cypress FPGA device was an
old version without the required functionality. Now it all works.

I now have EzUsb firmware loading and FPGA firmware loading build
entirely in the driver, no dependencies whatsoever...nice.
