Yes, the controller is integrated.  If you can't enable it from the BIOS 
then I don't think there is much else you can do.  Maybe someone else will 
have a better idea.

If you can't get the on-board controller to work, you may have to buy an 
add-on PCI or PC-card USB controller.  They aren't very expensive.
