Thanks, I found 'eject' in deselect - I will install it.

Could the conflict between drives be due to the 'old' 2.4.18 kernel that 
i am using? I think i read somewhere that that was the first version 
that included usb support. If so maybe there were bugs that have since 
been fixed.
