I'm trying to get the scanning function of the above working.

At the Canon Australia website, I found both printer and scanner
drivers in RPM packages for the above.

I downloaded and installed both types of driver. When I run an rpm
query, the relevant packages are confirmed as having been installed.

The printer driver works fine; the scanner driver not at all.

The instructions for scanning tell me to run the command scangearmp
from the command line. When I do, I get the following message: "Cannot
find Canon MFP scanner device".

I used the USBview application after getting that message and it showed
"MP160" in red. On the other hand, immediately after running USBview, I
tried to print and that worked perfectly.

I'd be very grateful if anyone could give me some suggestions as to
what I might try in order to overcome the problem.

Thanks for reading this,

Leslie
