Hi. I bought a USB enclosure for the IDE drive from my old laptop. Fedora
Core 2 talks to it just fine (kernel 2.6.5). Fedora Core 6 (2.6.18)
does not.

I have tried everything I could think of based on what I've seen in the
linux-usb.org FAQ and googling, and still no go.

I have a new laptop that I want to install Fedora 7 on, but I get the
impression that it won't do any better with this kind of disk.

The enclosure is marked USB 2.0 and I'm using the cable that came with it.

Note that the two different linux kernels are on the same box, I have a
multiple boot configuration. I would love to move off of FC 2 completely,
but not being able to acces my disk is a real hassle.

Please reply by email, since I'm not on this mailing list. I can send
dmesg output and so on with no problem, although I have the impression
that this is a known problem.

Thanks!
