Will do some hours later as that computer gets freed up.

I have some questions which I think are stupid: where should I look for
the output? /var/log/messages , /var/log/syslog, or only the console? If
the console how do I capture them?

(Asking now so I can do it all in one sitting without whining to the
mailing list in the middle of the process).
