Hi there I have a pretty strange problem. I can use my USB-Keyboard, USB-Mouse, USB-XBox360 Wireless Adapter and USB-Storage stick but no USB gamepads. I tried the Logitech Rumblepack 2 and Logitech Dual Action (which should be supported out-of-the-box). For both I loaded the joydev drivers, later I tried all *.ko I've found under the drivers/input directory with no success.
Both gamepads result in the following messages as I plug them in: Jul 31 20:06:34 discjockey kernel: usb 1-10: new low speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 9 Jul 31 20:06:34 discjockey kernel: usb 1-10: device not accepting address 9, error -71 Jul 31 20:06:34 discjockey kernel: usb 1-10: new low speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 10 Jul 31 20:06:35 discjockey kernel: usb 1-10: device descriptor read/all, error -84 Jul 31 20:06:35 discjockey kernel: usb 1-10: new low speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 11 Jul 31 20:06:35 discjockey kernel: usb 1-10: device descriptor read/all, error -84 Jul 31 20:06:35 discjockey kernel: usb 1-10: new low speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 12 Jul 31 20:06:35 discjockey kernel: usb 1-10: device descriptor read/8, error -84 Jul 31 20:06:36 discjockey kernel: usb 1-10: device descriptor read/8, error -71 I tried several solutions on the net but noone helped. The things I tried included: noapic boot option (and some others like IRQ routing stuff), trying different USB ports and fiddling around in the BIOS (deactivating USB2.0 support and things like that). I also tried to plug the gamepads in all USB-slots I've found (so on the front and backside). Here are some system informations: Kernel: Linux Fedora 7 with 2.6.22.1-33.fc7 SMP x86_64 Motherboard: ASROCK ALIVENF6G-DVI, nVidia nForce 430 Below you'll find the output of dmesg and lsusb -v. The USB device you'll see is an iMon LCD device (the PC acts as a media center). I hope you can help me, I have no clue what's wrong. The thing never worked yet (since 2 Kernel updates). Best regards & thanks Joel P.S. I got denied twice by filter rules.. doesn't the list accept attachments?
