Matt -- why don't you give the attached patch a whirl. It's against 2.3.99 pre3-5 (which is current as I write). I ran it against all three HCI drivers. The serial # is the address (mem for OHCI, i/o for UHCI) already shown when the HCI boots, and the description is along the lines of "USB OHCI Root Hub". - Dave
