I am looking for a scanner using the National LM9831 usb/scanner interface
chip. see http://www.national.com/ds/LM/LM9831.pdf for the datasheet.
This is a fantastic looking chip with full configuration available through
and extensive register set. I have heard rumors of linux drivers being
developed for the chip, so someone must have a scanner in their hands. If
one of the driver developers would drop me a line, I can probably help on
the driver or SANE backends for the scanner.
