Same problem here. I noticed there was a thread about this a week or two
ago, but not solution was presented to the list (although the archive
seems to be missing some messages). I have compiled all USB modules I
need into the kernel and mount usbdevfs via /etc/fstab on bootup. I only
use USB for accessing a HP 6200C scanner, which works, although there is
nothing in /proc/bus/usb (not even ..; but cd .. works ?!). The syslog
reports connection and disconnect.
IOW: It's the same situation that the guy (sorry, don't know his name)
that started the "/proc/bus/usb/ empty" thread was reporting. I also use
2.2.14 with backport of 2.3.51-pre*, I think, USB tree. Let it the one
that was currect 10 days ago.
