Just to confuse the issue a little more ... :-)

... does/will/should linux support USB device remote wakeup?

I imagine support for remote wakeup would effect how/if the host controller
(HC) and hubs get suspended, etc.

BTW, even though remote wakeup is in the USB spec, I personally haven't seen
such a device yet.  I hear some laptops cut power to their HC, while others
do not.
