The reason we ended up discussing that issue is because you
mentioned it in the context of reasons usbdevfs files should not
become accessible to more programs. That sounded to me like
papering, though perhaps it didn't to you.
Though it's evidently true that the locking issue isn't unique
to usbfs, so I can see why you might not want to "own" it!
