I am attempting to get USB working on a Toshiba 2065CDS laptop.
The USB controller is by NEC, and I believe it is OHCI. Unfortunately,
after inserting the 'usb-ohci' module, a bunch of messages flash by
for about half a second -- and then the system does a cold reboot.
Because these messages flash by so quickly, I have been unable to
figure out what they are. I have managed to get this much -- 'unable
to handle kernel paging request.' Sound like I may have a kernel oops
on my hands, but I can't collect any relevant data.
Does anyone have any suggestions on capturing this data? Syslog,
perhaps? It's not turning up in any of my logs, so I would need to know
how to reconfigure it. Will attempt to RTFM....
Here is the USB controller part of /proc/pci:
Bus 0, device 11, function 0:
USB Controller: NEC Corporation USB (rev 2).
IRQ 11.
Master Capable. Latency=64. Min Gnt=1.Max Lat=21.
Non-prefetchable 32 bit memory at 0xf7fff000 [0xf7ffffff]
Would be glad to provide more information on request. In the meantime,
I'll be fiddling with it. Thanks in advance for any help.
