USB 1.x maximum theoretical throughput is 12 M bits/second (Mbps).
Due to bit stuffing and protocol overhead, not all of this
can be realized.  The most that I have heard of is
around 8 Mbps using isochronous transfers (webcam) and
around 9 Mbps using bulk transfers.

There are a few 10 Mbps USB-Ethernet drivers for Linux-USB
already available.
