First question, when your system boots, do you get a PCI listing? Does
that PCI listing contain the USB device? Does it have an IRQ? My system
had the IRQ as 'NA'. Under the AMI BIOS, you can turn off the USB
IRQ, under 'PCI and PNP settings'. You may find that this is what your
system has done.

Not being a USB person and only having limited experience, this was my
only problem, and changing that setting fixed it.
