        You might want to try following the instructions in;

http://linuxusbguide.sourceforge.net/USB-guide-1.0.6/x413.html

to see if you can use it as a filesystem. I assume (but don't know) that
these devices use an msdos filesystem.
        You can continue to use 2.2.14 with the backport patch (a link to
it is at www.linux-usb.org).
