I've captured more data, and it is posted to http://www.onslate.com As suggested, the image captured and the raw bytes have been extracted from the ascii dump and are available. Also, Dimitri suggested the data was compressed in some manner.. after looking at it, there does appear to be a header, and it would appear to be in RLE format. A copy of the image saved as a bmp and then converted to an RLE bmp file had similar patterns to those in the dump, as viewed through a hex viewer. Not having a way to convert the ascii dump to an acceptable RLE image file for a viewer I'll have to study this format and try proving the image is in there. Dimitri also suggested it might use some YUV variant file format.. I'm hoping it does not, though the color images might.. the format looks scary to decode. Vista Imaging does make frequent reference to YUV9, YUV12, and YUV16 in their online literature, being human beings we tend to promote that which we are familar with.. so this may indeed turn out to be the case. Anyone familar with the RLE format, who could confirm, or disapprove the captured data is in this format would be appreciated, and save me time.. this is all the time I can devote the project this evening.
