Questions:

a.  Do you have any evidence that the pegasus driver loaded?
It's not listed in the dmesg output.
[This would lead me to try Ben's suggestion below.]

b.  Did you unplug & replug the LINKSYS adapter several times.
That's what it looks like in the log, but did you do it or
did the hub cycle power to that port several times?

c.  Did you try out Benjamin's suggestion in his email earlier
today:
