Hello,
This is an update for those of you who were following my earlier posts
about troubles with my Rio500 -> D-Link USB card -> LinuxPPC setup. I
have actually decided to solve my immediate problem, which is connecting
the Rio,by ordering a Belkin USB card. The Belkin is OHCI, which is
better supported in LinuxPPC (I'm sure you know this). I've heard
positive reports on the LinuxPPC mailing lists regarding this card.
*However*
In the meantime I've decided to keep the D-Link UHCI card for the 30-day
return period, in case you would like to continue looking at the issues
with the USB card's I/O space not being enabled. One other thing I tried
with this card was moving it to each of the 4 PCI slots in my SuperMac
J700. In one of the slots, it disabled booting altogether (this was the
'special' slot for the E100 high performance card which I don't have). In
all the other slots I have the same results as before - I/O space
disabled.
Let me know if I can be of assistance to your efforts.
Peter
