Hi all,
Has anybody else noticed problems when using a USB scanner? I have an HP 5200C
set up using the latest versions of SANE, the HP backend and XSANE. Most of the
time it is OK, but every now and again a scan stops mid way and after a fairly
long timeout (maybe 30 seconds - I'll try to time it next time ;-), XSANE tells
me there was an I/O error. Restarting the scan works (no need to reset anything
at the hardware level).
dmesg is revealing the following:
usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout
scanner.c: read_scanner(0): NAK received
Oh, I'm using 2.2.14 and the latest backport too so I may not be 100% up to
date. Have there been any recent changes that could solve this? My HCD is UHCI
and U'm using CONFIG_USB_UHCI_ALT compiled into the kernel.
I don't have much time to explore at the moment, but if nobody else is seeing
it maybe I can spend some time on it in the next few weeks (I have another OS
to release this week ;-).
TTFN,
John...
