Chris,
This requires:
1. A compact flash reader that is supported by a Linux driver. I use a
Sandisk SDDR-31 (~$30US) to read images written by a Canon camera to compact
flash cards. A version of SanDisk's SDDR-05 (version had an eject button)
also works.
2. A linux kernel compiled with a recent usb-storage driver. I use kernel
2.4.0test1. There is also a "backport" of recent usb support to the 2.2
kernel series that copies the usb kernel components from a later kernel into
a 2.2 kernel source tree, making some adjustments for 2.3/2.4 features the
2.2 kernel lacked.
