I have found some equipment which would suit me down to the ground, but it is the old story - no Linux support. The equipment is a USB ISDN modem which also acts as a telephone exchange for 4 phones. I'm wondering how realistic it may be to reverse engineer. I have no experience with USB, but with old style serial ports I think I would manage it by runing the equipment with M$ and monitor the line with Linux. Is something like this possible with USB? ie. can a Linux box be connected to the USB not as a master, but just to sniff, or maybe as a slave to simulate a device? If this is possible with some chipsets, but not others, does anyone know which?
