The key fact was that after receiving the clear-halt requests for the bulk endpoints, the device sent back a garbage 13-byte packet in response to an INQUIRY command. But I admit, it's only intuition saying that the clear-halts were the underlying cause of the problem. We're all waiting to hear what Robert finds.
