Thanks for your reply. I will try the EHCI patch you mention, and try and
post the lsusb -v output tomorrow.
I agree that Belkin devices are usually very good.
However, if a device is using a maxPacketSize that is too big when it is
being a Full speed device, then would a fix similar to the EHCI patch be
need for the UHCI_HCD driver as well?
I'll try the EHCI patch first, and let you know how I get on.
What do you think?

Can't be done .... although this patch may help:

Could you forward "lsusb -v" output for this device? When it's running
at high speed (/proc/bus/usb/devices lists "Spd=480"). I'm more than
a little bit surprised to see a Belkin product have a problems like
that ... previously I've seen their products to be higher quality, and
without this sort of blatant conformance bug. (In fact, without a lot
of minor quirks ...)
Of course, maybe the "Premium Vista Logo" program is in conflict with
the "USB 2.0" certification...
