Incidentally, I tried running the same test with an NEC EHCI
controller:
$ lspci -v -s 1:1.2
01:01.2 USB Controller: NEC Corporation USB 2.0 (rev 04) (prog-if 20 [EHCI])
Subsystem: HaSoTec GmbH Device 2928
Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 32, IRQ 9
Memory at fe5dfc00 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=256]
Capabilities: <access denied>
Kernel driver in use: ehci_hcd
$ lspci -vn -s 1:1.2
01:01.2 0c03: 1033:00e0 (rev 04) (prog-if 20 [EHCI])
Subsystem: 0e55:2928
Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 32, IRQ 9
Memory at fe5dfc00 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=256]
Capabilities: <access denied>
Kernel driver in use: ehci_hcd
It passed with no errors, unlike the Intel controllers.
