Subject: Re: Alcatel usb modem

Hi Greg,
I tried to follow these instructions again:
pakeklinux.wordpress.com/2010/10/21/solved-how-to-connect-using-venus-vt-18-multi-in-ubuntu-lucid-part1/
But I got different messages, for example "USB Mass Storage registered", "CDROM
(ioctl) error, command: Xpwrite, Read disk info 51 00(7x) 02 00", "Sense Key:
Hardware Error (current)".

Unfortunately English is not my mother tongue and I'm a new Linux user, I don't
know anything about it. I bought this Alcatel modem in Nigeria from Visafone
but they know less than me about this system. According to the user manual I
typed "sudo modprobe usbserial vendor=0x1BBB product=0x0012" but nothing
happened.
I don't really know what is vendor and device I'd. Should I send the MDN and
pESN etc numbers from the box?
