I understand the candid answer, I'd rather that than waste my and other
people's time :)
That said, as explained in the previous message, userspace is very
unlikely to happen too for the reasons I already gave, and the many
different programs that would have to be fixed, so I'm just going to
give up on a solution that will work for all and do my own hacks to fix
my own problem.
Probably a hack that will run sync(1) in a shell while loop every few
seconds when a usb flash device is mounted, and not otherwise. Gross,
but it should work.
