Organization Alert!!!

This is fast becoming a formal club proposition..

I believe that cinch require clubs to have a fixed contact, and that
wouldn't be a list server, they would probably want a mailing address, and
phone number....

Then you get letters, need a secretary... etc.

Just mentioning it while I was thinking it..

Given that the consensus for our anarchy was to avoid a structure at this
stage we should maybe go a bit longer before exposing ourselves, so to
speak, and having the required level of organization that entails.

Cheers, Chris Hellyar.

Subject: library proposal (Was - Re: CLUG Meeting Notes 30th October
2001)

yes yes.
i think that this is a far more practical idea - cantalug building up its
own collection of resources (ie a library).
i for one have several practical books, on linux & programming, which i'd be
happy to donate, along with a bundle of software & distros on cdroms.
i'm sure others here would be willing to do much the same - spare not so old
textbooks anyone?
and then there's all of the goodies various companies, esp from usa, give
out to lug's. the dundin dudes could help us out here re who to contact etc.
drew?

as for public knowing about this and us - we should get on to having the
group listed in the CINCH database one of these days.
and how about a regular ad in buy-sell-exchange?

just my spare change's worth
cheers
peter
PS: and if no one else is keen i'm happy to play librarians .......
