Craig, just a quick note on the RAM for the P133s. I've yet to find a PC of that vintage that would take anything more than a PC66 32Mb DIMM. I'd be interested to hear if you can pack any more RAM into it, but if it's got 4 SIMM sockets and one DIMM then thats possibly all you will get. Anything higher than a 32Mb DIMM generally gives 16Mb indicated in the POST during boot.

It might be you can add a 256 Mb dimm straight in... or the chipset might only support 64 Mb... dunno... need to experiment. > ---------- > From: Yuri DeGroot[SMTP:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: Wednesday, December 19, 2001 11:42 AM > To: 'clug'; 'dunlug'; 'nzlug' > Subject: Word Processor/Spreadsheet on P133 > > Hi, > > I'm setting up a P133 for my father. > He wants a simple wordprocessor and spreadsheet. > Text/Console based is fine. > > I have no idea how much ram is in this thing, > it's a freebie and I haven't picked it up yet. > > If I can't get something linux-based, I'll > install freedos and an old boxed MS-Works for DoS 3.0 > (licensed - bought it at student price in 1992 iirc). > > Would prefer linux based, then he can get email > as well. > > Yuri de Groot > Quality Improvement Specialist > on energy Limited > DDI 03-378 3017 > extn 3017 > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > Men are from Earth.
