As we have discussed web sites a couple of times lately I thought I
might say that http://www.buchhandel.de/ is something to aspire to. No
bullshit, the bare graphical content is actually useful, navigation is
fast and contact is easy to find. It's a database of all
German-language books in print (i.e. complete), with option to order
from any of the ten zillion book shops, and with cover image of by the
looks of it every item. Uses javascript for ordering - fair enough,
otherwise works fine without cookies or scripting. And the top-level
menu is text-only - guess what - it still doesn't look any worse! A
very pleasant difference from the usual Frontpage crap by designers who
think they need to show off their ....^H^H^H^Hego instead of producing
something useful. 10 out of 10 from me.

PS I still wish there was a books-in-print database for NZ... (the pigs
have hit the ground hard, and it never was a books-in-print anyway)
