The other alternative viewpoint is that the big vendors (IBM, HP,
Compaq, etc) pay sod-all for Windows licences, and they never used to
change the price much if you removed it at sale time.  Why not look at
buying the Windozed laptop, carefully peeling the sticker off and
selling it? Win98SE has been getting about $150 on trademe, and Win2k
nearly twice that... You would have to make a CD with the cabs on it tho
as most laptops just have a restore CD which only works on that
particular machine.

Just an alternative thought
