Hi all, I have got it sorted at last, the mksmbpasswd doesn't seem to work to well. I have also enabled ssl support and re-entered the password using smbpasswd and after this the file looks similar to the RH6.0 file. So I can now see the shares on the Samba server from the windows boxes. I will reinstate the firewall and see if my problems return.
