True, SuSE discontinued isos some versions back (they didn't say why).
The ftp-downloadable and -installable version is made available some
weeks after the release of the boxed set. The advantage is even more
testing, and the fixes are already included.

As for mirrors, I don't think there is one in NZ. The one (URL given
when you log into ftp.suse.com) in Oz doesn't support rsync, which I
almost upped to a requirement because ftp is too much trouble.

I have the 8.0 here now (thanks John) if you want a copy (much faster
than downloading anyway), and I mirrored the complete update path
(a little over 500MB) and can burn you a copy.

Perhaps we can persuade Paradise into adding it to their distro mirror.
