Hi Mal, It's interesting that Mozilla won't connect (what version?) - Mozilla 1.0 appears to have reasonably comprehesive support for all the common SSL 2/3 and TLS based cipher suites up to triple-DES (168bit key).
If you can connect with MS IE, try a right-click properties on a secure page and look for the SSL connection info, it should be something like: "Connection: SSL 3.0, RC4 with 128 bit encryption (High); RSA with 1024 bit exchange". Have you tried the older versions of Netscape (e.g. 4.73) ? Some financial institutions are or were using M$s SGC (Server Gated Cryptography) extensions to SSL3 to provide 'high grade' (> 40bit key) cryptography after the US govt. relaxed export restrictions on SGC for international use. If they are still using SGC, there may be browser compatibility issues (that's just a wild arse guess though, don't know for sure). Mal Ellis wrote: > Thanks for reply ..
