I think 5 is the max number of devices you can have on splitters. Can't
actually vouch for that though. They can soon add up, I have 3 phones inside
our house and one outside in the sleepout where my wife has her office. She
also has a fax machine and a modem (I am not yet sure whether it is worth
running a network cable undergound to the sleepout) and there is an
answerphone inside as well. Add the phone jack in the garage and that is
potentially 8 devices.
