Greetings list. I have just set up a trio of www based forums for folks to use as an alternative to the email list.
My motivation is that I have seen, on many occasions, people asking questions which have been answered in quintuplicate or more by people saying essentially the same thing. Also I have heard some adverse comments about the technical discussions being 'buried' under masses of political and social messages. That's not to be interpreted as a criticism, political and social messages definitely have their place in a group such as ours There is also the facility in the technical forum to attach picture and program archive files. You can attach pictures to the postings to the social chatter forum as well. In order to keep within my traffic ration I have limited the files to 100kb in size. I could probably make this bigger if needed, but not to the size of a CD. :-) Therefore I have created 3 on-line discussion groups situated at:- http://berty.dyndns.org/forums/index.php?f=28 Vote on its usefulness with your keyboards.
