FWIW I can get 120mm 24 volt fans from work. They move great gobs of air at 12V with very little fan noise. However you do end up with quite a bit of noise from turbulence as the air passes through fins/holes. No good for CPUs unless you have a B I G heatsink or are open to doing a bit of handiwork. I plan to rip the guts out of my PC with the intention of quietening it one of these days. I've got an extremely quiet HDD but the PSU, CPU and case fans still make way too much noise for my liking.
