all I can say is, the canon mpc20 (telecom branded) works as a printer
only (Using a canon driver for one of their straight bubble jet printers).
Its scanning, faxing etc is dependent on the canon windows front end.

I have parallel port sniffing sofftware that i was thinking of firing up
and watching what goes in & out the parallel port, but it all takes time
and I dunno what i'd do with the info anyway!

you might find some info on http://www.linuxprinting.org
