However, a number of people (including a report from an FBI explosives expert) believe that a single car bomb could not have caused all the damage. Someone calculated that that would have taken 7 bombs in total to cause the blast pattern on the building. Unfortunately, the building was knocked down before forensic scientists could examine it properly. Gore Vidal has a good description of what happened, and what was going on in Tim McVeagh's mind in his book "Perpetual war for perpetual peace" (I have a copy if you can't find one). On a different note, I met someone from Oklahoma the other day, and he said it's been good for the city...they get lots of tourists now. tim http://www.cosc.canterbury.ac.nz/~tnw13 Quidquid latine dictum sit, altum viditur. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: PGPfreeware 5.0i for non-commercial use Comment: Made with pgp4pine 1.75-6 Charset: noconv iQA/AwUBPa355QccL5A6x/wfEQI4hACeOh7NsqcLYC7wBDWIWBxT5UE9NmgAoO/r ZVkU3yFzsqiJtUN9kJCJKlPC =9n98 -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
