rpm --rebuild

Hi all

I am having trouble with the above command.

I have installed ELX linunx (kernel is 2.4.17-elx) that Paul (e-cafe) downloaded for me. It is great - thanks Paul:)

But now I am trying to get my winmodem going (I know :( - but it works fine with Mandrake - so should be able to get it going with this one as well). There are precompiled RPMs on the Linmodem site for Mandrake and Redhat etc, but I have to use a source rpm and rebuild it for ELX.

I have tried running rpm --rebuild (package name) and I get the error message 'no such file or directory' (yet I used tab to complete the line so it is there of course).

I have done some searching on Google w/out success so far - but am hoping someone may be able to point out my mistake quickly - or point me to a good reference to read up on this.
