Have you considered an IMAP account instead?

If so try <http://www.fastmail.fm/>, in addition to IMAP the best thing about them is that they have a one-time-payment only (about $US15 I think) account that I actually paid for!

While they have advertising tags on the free account you can set it to say anything as long as it has their URL in it...
