I had alot of trouble installing linux, with my CD halting on the first disk of the installs. Originally I tried Suse, then Mandrake 8.2. and 9.0. I also tried to run a Suse evaluation disk that runs off the CD, but still problems. I had no problems with the drive under windows, and it tested OK with a disk utility program.
Eventually I went back to Suse, after being told my media was faulty, I installed it using the safe settings mode of the install. This worked, so I can only asume that the cd driver that the normal install option used, did not like my dvd drive. hope this helps Graham. --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
