Top tip. Thanks. That site seems to have exactly the reference I need. There 
is a thread there which says I need to delete some lines from unusual_dev.h, 
recompile my kernel, and it will work just fine:

Unfortunately this is something (recompiling) I haven't done before, so it 
might take some time and courage before I learn how (or even find the 
sources)...
