I had a look at their site Last night as it happens, there are some big prises, but you also need some serious number crunching ability.. Might look into it after Xmas.. Anyone want to make up a team.. Folks with access to workplace LAN's overnight, and sympathtic a boss welcome.
I'm not really fussed what runs on the cluster, it's just another experiment in my never ending quest for toys, but at the moment I'm drag-racing, or is that cluster racing? A chap I know who is doing the same thing (night-time cluster on a worplace LAN) to 1000 units on seti, we both joined within an hour of each other on the 10th with small clusters at home, and it's just getting silly from there on out.
I'd also like to point out there is a bottle of 12 year single malt Glenfiddich riding on this, so I am going to win stuff :-).

Which leads me to a question; anyone know of a NZ linux or lug team on seti that I should join? I joined the 'New Zealand' team for want of a better idea, but I can quite happily move, I'm not all that faithful :-). Someone did Email me about a team, but it wasn't really a Linux team, so I didn't join... Fussy maybe, faithful no.. :-).Seti sucks :) go join a distributed.net team, and try to crack one of the
encryption thingee's they're doing. you can win stuff.
Of course, this means you need to change your stuff to run the dnet client,
dnetc.
