I have experience, ipcop seems to take a while to dial, what sort of
processor do you have? I find it goes a lot better on a p133 or
thereabouts - although many people will tell you quite rightly that a
486 will easily do the job of a gateway.

There must be some processor intensive stuff to trigger the dial??
There is definitely a lot of stuff happens AFTER the connect (starting
snort for example)
