Do the work then point validator.w3.org at it. Show your teacher how crappy the html is that is produced. Then load it in netscape / mozilla / chimera / opera / konqueror / lynx? / etc and show how fscked up it can get. Do the same data according to the conventions, and show how it loads basically the same in all the browsers. Makes the course fun :)
