Or use kups etc... (still requires you to know the root password). I do like Cups, but have to say that I find its error reporting truly bad, leaving you no idea why printing isn't working. For example, Mandrake 9.0 manages to screw up the printer URI (it gets file:/dev/usb/lp0 instead of usb:/dev/usb/lp0) and printing can give no output. Error logs give no indication of what's wrong. I've had other similar things happen. - Mark
