One thing we missed at the meeting where the committee was appointed was
a vote of thanks for Nick Elder, who has done so much for CLUG (such as
it is). I had meant to say something and move a vote of thanks, but got
swept away in the other business.

Nick has single handedly organised the venue, meeting times, most of the
speakers, handled the money (accounting for every cent), chaired
meetings, posted reminders, organised the workshop participants, played
a major part in the installfest, and countless other things that I have
probably missed. He has spent many hours of his own time on helping the
other "members" and we should all be grateful. He has left the incoming
committee with a standard to aspire to.

I would therefore like to place his efforts on record and thank him on
behalf of all those who have benefitted from his time, effort and skills.
